What is Daily Living?

Daily support can help you to participate more actively and confidently in the community. Examples of support could be a support worker accompanying you to travel to and from the event venue.
Daily Living relates to four different support categories. Each of these support categories pertain to different types of activities you may engage in throughout the day.

What are Consumables?

Consumables are a part of daily support as they are the physical tools participants use to manage their condition. They help participants with a disability stemming from an ongoing impairment to physical, neurological, visual, hearing and cognitive abilities.
In order for participants to meet daily functional needs and achieve daily tasks, consumables supplement self-care and communication, for example:

Assistance with Social & Community Participation?

Daily life spans across a multitude of areas – social, sports, education and more. Assistance with social and community participation covers expenditure for the added challenge of disability management when participating. This might look like disability support with transport, joining a club and making friends.
You may be receive funds to engage in community/social or recreational activities. This can include funding to document the process and expected outcomes, to inform your future daily support. Funds that may not be included are costs that any person would be required to pay for eg. course or membership costs.

What are Stated Supports?

Stated Supports are any services listed as ‘stated supports’ are not flexible. This means funding has been allocated for a specific support or service, and you can’t use this funding for something else. You cannot swap ‘stated supports’ for any other supports. In-kind Supports – If there are supports in your plan that are listed as ‘in-kind’, it means the service has already been paid for by your state, territory or the Australian government. You must use this provider as they have already received payment and will provide all services that are booked.

What does Assistance with daily life cover?

This support category provides funds to assist/supervise personal tasks of daily life to enable you to live as independently as possible. It includes assistance for people living in a shared environment.

What is included in Personal Care?

Personal care is any activity done for you that’s of a personal nature. This may include: bathing, showering, hair washing and shaving or oral hygiene skills like brushing your teeth! It also includes Continence Management such as going to the bathroom (toilet), catheter/stoma care if needed –  The personal care needs of an individual can be as varied and extensive as they are.

Does Complete Connect Have NDIS experience
Yes. Complete Connect is the leading NDIS providers in NSW. We’ve been involved in the NDIS since its rollout in NSW and every day since.
Who will manage the funds in my plan?

That’s up to you. You have three plan management options to choose from:

NDIA Managed – The National Disability Insurance Agency manages the funds in your plan.

Plan Managed – You hire a plan manager to look after the funds in your plan. They will also be responsible for paying your NDIS-related bills on your behalf.

Self-Managed – You manage the funds in your plan independently using the participant portal. You will also be required to pay your own plan bills.

Can I change my servie providers if I'm unhappy with the service?
Yes. Your comfort and satisfaction are the top priorities. So, if you’re unhappy with the services you’re receiving, you can absolutely change.
Can I have my family present during the planning process and the NDIS meeting?

Of course. You can invite a friend or family member to support you during the meeting and every step. after. and add links.
